Internet Explorer 6 Support

Jun 7, 2010 at 1:44 PM

I needed to get this to display correctly with Internet Explorer 6 and have done so, and I wanted to share it just in case anyone else also required it.

All I did was create an IE6 only CSS file called jHtmlArea-ie6.css, which I put into conditional comments:

<!--[if IE 6]><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/jHtmlArea-ie6.css" /><![endif]-->

This file simply contains the following CSS definitions:

div.jHtmlArea .ToolBar ul li a { width:18px; }
div.jHtmlArea div iframe  {
    border-width:2px;
    border-style:solid;
    border-color:#000 #aaa #aaa #000;
    margin:2px;
}

And that's it. The toolbar should line up correctly and the iframe containing the actual text has a border.
