Does jHtmlArea has a minimum width? How to change that width?

I have a jHtmlArea on my page, inside a table. All content in the table adapts itself to smaller screen width, expect jHTMLArea. The container div does have a width of 100% and jHtmlArea does resize, but stops resizing at a certain width (851px in my case).

How can this be solved?
<div class="jHtmlArea" style="width: 100%;"><div class="ToolBar" style="width: 575px;"><ul><li><a href="javascript:void(0);" class="bold" title="Bold"></a></li><li><a href="javascript:void(0);" class="italic" title="Italic"></a></li><li><a href="javascript:void(0);" class="underline" title="Underline"></a></li><li class="separator"></li><li><a href="javascript:void(0);" class="link" title="Insert Link"></a></li><li><a href="javascript:void(0);" class="unlink" title="Remove Link"></a></li><li class="separator"></li><li><a href="javascript:void(0);" class="orderedlist" title="Insert Ordered List"></a></li><li><a href="javascript:void(0);" class="unorderedlist" title="Insert Unordered List"></a></li><li><a href="javascript:void(0);" class="indent" title="Indent"></a></li><li><a href="javascript:void(0);" class="outdent" title="Outdent"></a></li></ul></div><div><iframe style="height: 80px; width: 100%; background-color: white; border: 0px;"></iframe></div><textarea id="berichtTextarea" rows="5" cols="70" name="bericht" style="display: none;"></textarea></div>
